The International 2022

The debut of the Soniqs Dota 2 team on Dota 2’s biggest stage has come to an end at The International 2022. With the inception of Soniqs’ efforts in Dota 2, the initial debut came at the PGL Arlington Major in August. Having acquired a team that found success within regional and online play, Soniqs went on into the North American qualifiers for The International. Competing against 11 other qualifier teams, Soniqs Dota 2 rose to the top of North America to earn their spot at the most prestigious, most competitive tournament of the year.

With the start of The International, the Soniqs Dota 2 team lost their first match against Evil Geniuses, following their loss with back to back draws against Team Liquid and PSG.LGD. Having their work cut out for them, the team returned in Day 2 with tough 0-2 losses to team OG and RNG. With their only path to advancement coming down to making a tiebreaker, Soniqs Dota 2 decided to up the ante with a 2-0 victory against BOOM and a draw to BetBoom. The writing was on the wall however as with a 0-2 loss against Hokori, the team had played their final match in The International 2022.

While disappointed to not make it out of groups, the team recognizes the achievement of making it to TI 2022. Performing well enough to call themselves some of the best players in North America and capable of competing against the best players in the world.

Proud of their accomplishments the team looks to renew themselves for the 2023 year of Dota 2.
